Orkin employees have access to a multimillion-dollar training facility in Atlanta, where they can participate in satellite broadcasts and interactive, hands-on and web-based training.

In 2003, Orkin received first place for the American Society for Training and Development BEST award. This award recognizes companies for superior training programs, including support for learning and development, instructional excellence and the use of learning technologies.

Training magazine recognized Orkin with an Outstanding Training Initiative award in 2010 for a mentoring program designed to support women in the pest management industry. As a component of the Rollins Women’s Leadership Council, the Diamond Partnership Mentoring Program matches experienced female managers with new hires to help them succeed professionally and to encourage more women to take on management roles. The mentoring program also helps recruit more women to work for all Rollins brands.

Orkin and the NPMA’s Women of Excellence Award

While pest management is largely a male-dominated industry, Orkin recognizes that thousands of women contribute significantly to the industry’s success. Orkin sponsors the National Pest Management Association’s (NPMA) Women of Excellence award to highlight women’s leadership achievements and contributions.

Each year, the NPMA solicits nominations for women who work for pest management companies, pest management product manufacturers or industry research organizations. A panel of independent judges evaluates the nominees based on their personal and professional contributions along with their leadership and community involvement.
