Gary Rollins Receives the NPMA Pinnacle Award
In 2003, the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) presented the Pinnacle Award to Gary Rollins, president, COO and chairman of the board for Orkin and CEO, president and COO of Rollins. As the industry’s most prestigious award, the Pinnacle Award honors a recipient’s lifetime of dedication and commitment to the pest management industry.
While presenting Gary with this award, the NPMA claimed that the industry wouldn’t be what it is today without Gary Rollins’ support.
Orkin Employees and PCT Awards
Each year, Pest Control Technology (PCT) magazine recognizes the top residential, commercial and termite technicians in the industry. A panel of judges evaluates the nominees based on criteria such as pest control knowledge, customer service and contributions to their companies. The publication also recognizes the outstanding achievements of pest control industry executives with its Crown Leadership Awards. Orkin is proud to have PCT magazine recognize a number of employees for their achievements.
- The 2010 Commercial Technician of the Year- Jim Bailey. Bailey, an Orkin pest control technician in Columbus, Ohio, joined Orkin more than 20 years ago after graduating high school. Not only does Bailey have excellent customer service skills, but as his branch’s certified trainer, he is responsible for properly training new hires while instilling the importance of customer service.
- The 2009 Residential Technician of the Year- Randy Miller. Miller, an Orkin pest control technician in Greenville, S.C., joined Orkin in 2000 after serving in the U.S. Navy as a preventive medicine technician. In addition to the extensive knowledge he brings to his job, PCT recognized Miller for building strong relationships with customers and their dogs, for which he carries doggy treats.
- The 2005 Residential Technician of the Year- Norbert Brungardt. Brungardt is an Orkin pest control technician in Tulsa, Okla. who goes to great lengths to accommodate customers. For example, he regularly scheduled service calls at 5:30 a.m. for a customer who ran a daycare from her home.
- The 2003 Termite Technician of the Year- Kevin McDonald. McDonald, an Orkin termite technician in Clearwater, Fla., is a skilled employee with excellent problem-solving skills and dedication to customer service.

PCT’s Crown Leadership Awards

The 2006 PCT Crown Leadership Award winner- Gary Muldoon. Muldoon received the award when he was the vice president of Orkin’s Commercial division. He joined Orkin as a senior operations manager when the company acquired PCO Services in Canada in 1999. He worked closely with Orkin during the acquisition and continued to lead the Orkin/PCO Canada operations. In 2001, he began to oversee Orkin’s entire North American Commercial division. Today, Muldoon is president of Orkin PCO Services in Canada.
Termidor All-Star Technicians
In 2006, BASF Professional Pest Control created the Termidor All-Star Technician program to recognize the contributions termite technicians make to the pest management industry. A panel of BASF judges reviewed nominees’ applications, taking into consideration professionalism, leadership within the company, outstanding customer service and knowledge of industry trends and products. The following Orkin technicians have received the award:

Learning Award
Chief Learning Officer magazine awarded David Lamb, Orkin vice president of learning and media services, with a Silver Award in the Learning Innovation category in 2006 for organizations with less than 10,000 employees. Lamb received the award for his role in developing and implementing Rollins TV, a satellite television system that Orkin uses to help train its employees.
