Environmental Responsibility

Orkin is committed to protecting the environment at all operational levels. In addition to following the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) regulations for pest control companies, Orkin voluntarily participates in programs developed by the EPA and the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) to operate under the highest environmental standards for pest control companies. Orkin also has participated in the National Quality Assurance program since 1997, which now reviews all of Orkin’s services at the branch level to ensure delivery of the best possible service to our customers.

Since Orkin takes an integrated pest management (IPM) approach, the company’s Specialists are well trained in implementing effective pest management programs centered on communication and partnership with customers. The Orkin and Integrated Pest Management page details the holistic approach an Orkin Specialist takes during the IPM process. For more information on specific treatments for bed bugs, termites and rodents, visit the IPM Treatments page.

Orkin takes seriously its commitment to the environment beyond pest control. The company promotes efficient use of service vehicles, commuting programs and long-distance training programs. To read more about these initiatives, visit the Corporate Responsibility page.
