Orkin provided a $1.3 million gift to fund the development of the Orkin Children’s Zoo at Zoo Atlanta, an interactive exhibit for zoo visitors to enjoy. The attraction, which opened in September 2002, features a South American-themed exhibit for animals such as the golden lion tamarins; an Australian-themed Outback Station with red kangaroos, kookaburras and a double-wattled cassowary; and a petting zoo with sheep, goats and Kunekune pigs. The Orkin Children’s Zoo also includes cabins for overnight educational safari visits.
